How Not to Repair a Dryer Exhaust System

These photos show repairs made to a dryer exhaust system by the customer’s maintenance team. They had the best intentions. Wood to cover up a hole in the duct work of a commercial gas dryer? And duct tape (which is made of cloth) to seal a hole that will only dry out and also become a fire hazard.

The repairs with a steel plate where the wood was and high temperature UL-181 listed aluminum tape in place of the duct tape. Leave it to the professionals and do it right the first time!
